To Pray
So grateful for prayer, that we have this gift to communicate with God, and no one is excluded from the ability to do it. Whether you speak in poetry or pleading, petition or in praise, with tears or anger, in stillness and with groans or a single name, "Jesus", God loves that you have come to Him with all of it. He is big enough to take our rage, He is tender enough to be gentle with our broken hearts and He longs for us to know that in our brokenness He is WITH us. I trust God with my words. I know He won't misunderstand me or be insulted and He knows exactly what I mean even when I don't know how to represent all that I carry inside with my inexact, clumsy expression of language. He bends His ear to me, to each of us, and it is in these moments of intimate communion, LOVE becomes a presence and our companion. Oh, to be able to stay in the gentle quiet. In the flurry of activity today, I will pray. As your name is brought to mind, as I struggle, as I express my gratitude and as I ask for one more ounce of energy, I will pray. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name, I give this day, and all my days, to You. Amen.
