The Transition of Suffering
Hello, friends!
I woke up this morning with the phrase "Transition of Suffering".
When I asked the Lord what this meant He suggested I think about it in the context of a small group that my husband, Mark, facilitates called Foundations. In Foundations the discussion centers around the book of Genesis and Creation science. It is in this context I felt guided to think about this phrase.
The Transition of Suffering refers to what an evolving state would have to endure before it evolved. One such transition would be how a living thing processes oxygen. That THIN line between below and above water is the exact place where life and death occur. If we came from water, for example, what part of our evolutionary process endured the transition of suffering - the gasping for air - between being under water and breaking through the surface? Whatever we are born to be - animal or human - we are born with the equipment to sustain our bodies in the environments in which we come to existence. If we are evolving over millions of years, can anyone understand how a species would be sustained in those moments - let alone years - between breathing in water and breathing on land? When a fish is hooked or we are pulled under water, there is no greater struggle than to try and get back to where we can breathe again. There is nothing that COMPELS the fish or the human to remain in the state of suffering so it can be on land or stay in the water. There would be no OPPORTUNITY to evolve because it is the line between life and death. My understanding of evolution is that its goal is to adapt, sustain and prolong LIFE. With that in mind, if mainstream science (what is taught in schools) negates even the possibility of a Creator then it also has the responsibility of explaining The Transition of Suffering. In this context, Genesis will always hold up for me.
