Dad's Day
I honor my dad's life today.
Dad, you adopted me and raised me as your own. You LOVED this country, serving it well with the army and air force. Because of you, I love it too and want so much to be a contributing citizen. Reading to me and teaching me how to read, you passed on a love of books and as a result, I love to write too. I wonder what titles you would recommend today. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is still one of my all-time favs! You will always be one of the smartest men I've ever known. How did you know the answer to EVERYTHING?! Still, I'm glad you had the wisdom to say, "Look it up!" so we could learn a few things on our own. I miss being a kid making pumpkin pies with you and holding the light while you tinkered and did repairs. You were always so CRISP in your uniform and the scent of fresh coffee and toothpaste will always be Morning Daddy. I miss you everyday and still catch myself wanting to share my day with you. I'm glad you still listen. I love you, Dad, always.
