Day 3 - Draw the Circle - Amazing Things

Theme: If we give more of ourselves to God, God will give more of Himself to us.

WHAT DID YOU HEAR?
(Silence.)

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I read today's passage about consecration several times.  To be consecrated is to die to yourself and allow God to use you for divine purpose. It's not for you to live as an empty shell under His command, but so you can be SO FULLY realized, that there isn't a part of you that's wasted.

I read these passages, not just for understanding but to "hear" something from God.  Nothing came.  There was a message in the silence.  The message answered this question:  If God has been faithful in sharing so much with me these past few months, why has He chosen to remain silent today?

The answer:  To show me I haven't fully surrendered.

There are still prayers that are spoken with a caveat.

Father, use me...but not there.

There are still divine interruptions I don’t recognize as blessings.

I can't talk right now. I have a million things to do.

I still ask for healing and don't fully participate in my own health.

Just one more piece...

I haven't yet fully surrendered.

So what is God to do with me? He illustrates the consequence with silence.  It's not that He has abandoned me.  On the contrary, it reflects a lack of movement on MY part. If I don't surrender to God's prompting, I stay the same.  In the silence, He is teaching me that in my disobedience or inaction I act as if He never spoke.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Practice acts of courage, surrender and self-discipline so I can get closer to what God made me to be.

NOW TALK TO GOD...
Father, help me with my fear, my need for control and my weakness.  The enemy would love to use these against me and they conspire to keep me from the blessings You have set aside just for me.  They keep me from being fully realized in You. Father, I get too comfortable staying where I am because I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS. Jesus, teach me what I don't know.  Create a desire in me to grow beyond the familiar.  I know You will equip me with everything  I need. Our history together tells me that. Father, forgive me when I fall short. I am grateful for Your mercy and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
