Day 5 - Draw the Circle - Write it Down
Friday, May 1, 2015
Theme: The shortest pencil is longer than the longest memory.
WHAT DID YOU HEAR?
When people ask, "Why do you believe?",
your journaling will provide the answer.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I shouldn't have time to write but I swear, God bends time and space so I can. It's not just a desire, it's a compulsion. My journal and this blog allow me to record all that I am WITH God and certainly, all that God continues to be FOR me. This especially comes in handy when I get Godnesia (the term I use when the miracles have been forgotten). It allows me to reconcile my past with the present me who is striving daily toward the future self I am hoping to be.
Honestly, it's only been through this Circle Maker series that I have really started documenting my heart's desires. (The front and back of my journal are shown below. It's with these covers that I am circling the prayers between them.) The prayers I have included fall under categories of health, work, spirituality, home and "additional". I made, and continue to add to, this list WITH God. I write down what I want to pray for and what HE wants me to pray for. (He'll tell you if you just ask!) I have found too that the more I write down my prayers the bolder and more detailed they become. They are unashamedly self-centered and MORE self-less. I am authentic because it's a private conversation between God and me. He knows my thoughts already so why would it be any other way? In my notebooks, I leave spaces in between each prayer so I can look through the pages and make notes about how God is working in each one. I'm looking for what He's saying yes to, what He may be protecting me from and what doors I need to close. When God delays His answer, the book also makes that silence a little more bearable.
Beloved, if you are in danger of letting time with God slip between your fingers, let it run through a pencil and onto a page. You will be SO blessed!
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Keep writing every chance I get.
NOW TALK TO GOD...
Lord, thank You for giving my writing purpose and for giving me something to write ABOUT. In Jesus' name, amen.
