Day 17 - Draw the Circle - Do Not Delay

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Waking up in the middle of the night messes with my rest but I do LOVE that it's the time I get to hang out with God. It's a loving connection but, you know, love shows up in a lot of different ways.  It's gentle when the world has not been kind.  It's comforting when we need to feel His presence. It's passionate when that fire needs to be passed on. And other times love is tough, a firm hand when eyes roam and feet wander.  Love is not always pretty.

The "tough" forces us to look at where we fall short, how we've made mistakes along the way and the damage that's been caused by our choices.  It is not gentle.  It's the grabbing of our hair, a wrestling of our neck and shoulders and an iron hold as we are forced to look in the mirror.  It is here when consequences become most evident. It gets here when coaxing, counseling, alternatives and ways out are not effective.   It's when the deaf, dumb, lazy and addicted no longer respond to gentle and tough is REQUIRED. 

The LOVE is what keeps showing up and not giving up. Love doesn't leave us where we are. God is the love that doesn't exhaust, run out or empty.  It is not a love we can deplete with our infinite choices to self-destruct.

NOW TALK TO GOD...
Dad, you're tough but I know You love me. I trust in the wisdom of Your timing, the amount of pressure You apply and the lessons You want me to learn.  Give me a receptive heart and endurance that perseveres. Don't allow me to walk off your hand or stay lost. Help me be a good student.  Father, forgive me my worry and help me to rest in Your capable hands. Let it be TODAY, Lord, and if it's not, Your perfect will and Your perfect time. In Jesus' name, amen.
