1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

As my dad was dying, I slept with my Bible like a teddy bear. Today, as I mourn the loss of my father, it's no different. The Word and my God are my refuge.

As I lie here, unable to sleep, I reach for my Bible again. It is a comforting presence in this time of fear and uncertainty.  I asked the Lord to give me words to sustain me through this time and I opened the Bible to
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

16 Rejoice always 17 pray continually,18 give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

God knows I'm trying. Help me, Father. I'm not doing well on my own. In Jesus' name, amen.
